Supermicrosurgery Hands-On Course

It is our pleasure to invite you to the one-day Intensive Supermicrosurgery Hands-On Course organized as an education activity of 2019 WSLS. This course is open to all 2019 WSLS participants, including residents, fellows, and practicing physicians who are interested in the essential technical skills of supermicrosurgery. You will be taught with micro-instrument handling, micro-suturing, using 11-0 Nylon and practicing on the 0.5 to 1.0 mm in diameter vessels. You will interact one-on-one with worldwide known experts with in-depth knowledge and surgical experiences in supermicrosurgery. On completion of this course, the participants should be able to:

  • Operate on small vessel dissection, 0.5- 1.0 mm in diameter
  • Achieve correct handling and use of supermicrosurgical instruments
  • Suture a variety of small vessel and or lymphatic vessels
  • Demonstrate an understanding of basic supermicrosurgery techniques
  • Learn the principals of end-to-end anastomosis and end-to-side anastomosis procedures for lymphovenous anastomosis

The microsurgery laboratory is located in the New Research Building. The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art Leica microscopes, teaching cameras, and a complete audiovisual system.

This course is limited to a maximum of 24 participants on a first come first serve basis. The registration will not be completed until payment is received in full.
